More About UV-C

What is UV-C?
CleanCharge products are equipped with specialty bulbs that emit a particular spectrum of ultraviolet light referred to as UV-C which can impede bacterial growth on surfaces of all kinds. UV-C is used in many applications to reliably kill harmful microbial matter on everyday surfaces to better protect ourselves from the spread of diseases.
How does it work?

UV-C light at a particular wavelength, 254 nanometers, causes lesions in the DNA and RNA of bacteria and viruses. After sufficient exposure to UVC-254, the virus or bacteria is denatured to the point that it can no longer replicate, effectively killing it on the spot.

The CleanCharge Difference

UV-C light is only effective as a disinfectant when it is making direct contact with the object. Therefore, we have designed our next-generation units with highly reflective stainless steel interiors to maximize exposure, and have fitted them with removable dividers to allow for flexible configuration. Meanwhile, our UV-C bulbs are strategically positioned to minimize shadows and gaps in coverage.

Our units can also be used without the dividers to house irregular items such as scanners and education toys. Our 40 bay unit is perfect for large quantities of laptops, tablets, and more. Laptops can be cleaned open or closed for maximum exposure. As always, the dividers can be removed to accommodate a wide range of applications.

Current and Future Generation

Generation 1.0 of our UV-C Clean & Charge Carts has been a customer favorite for several years. These trusted carts are currently stationed in hundreds of schools and offices across the country. Please reach out to a ChargeTech team member to learn about our current offerings. 

Coming in March 2021, Gen 2 of our UV Clean and Charge Carts will be available for delivery. These units come with a highly-reflective stainless steal interior for improved UV-C exposure. The dividers are also made from a reflective material and are easier to reconfigure in order to clean the inside of laptops as well as oversized items such as scanners and education toys.
