The Problems with a Smartphone’s Battery Life

  • 2 min read
I’m sure all us smartphone users love our smartphones’ functionalities and are glued to them for every second of the day whether it be in class, in the restroom, shopping or even during awkward moments in the elevator. However, as quoted by Uncle Ben, “With power comes great responsibility”.. or in this case great battery life problems.

MY CELL PHONE DIED!

How many times have you exclaimed that your cell phone died in response to your friends’ or mom’s complaints about hanging up as you’re having a semi-important conversation on the phone with one of them?

Many of us cannot go a whole day without charging our smart phones. Our excessive use of our phones to text, make calls, check the weather or play games leads to low battery life and this problem continues to occur on a daily basis.

With today’s technology, don’t you think scientists have discovered a way to rapidly charge cell phone batteries or make them last longer? Indeed, scientists from the Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology in South Korea have accomplished this! However, the technology is not momentarily available to consumers.

For now, the only solution is to buy an extended battery, which takes longer to charge but may be useful in times of desperate need. Another solution would be to place free public cell phones charging stations with multi tips for smart phones and mobile phones around the globe.

In addition to this, smartphones have too many signals which drain up your battery throughout the day such as data, wi-fi, bluetooth and the variations between signal strengths. The constant changes when you move into different locations of loss of connection, greater signal strength, and the pushing and pulling of data consumes your battery life.
