The Technology

CleanCharge antimicrobial products, such as the AM 27K and the AM 54K portable power packs, are surfaced in an antimicrobial film that contains an inorganic silver-based additive that is human safe, non-volatile, heat resistant and long lasting. Future CleanCharge battery packs will be treated with the same antimicrobial active ingredients.

How Does It Work?

In the presence of moisture, the antimicrobial active ingredient releases positively charged silver ions. These positive ions bind favorably to the negatively charged cellular enzymes of the microbes on hand, inhibiting enzyme activities in cell walls, membranes, and nucleic acids to stop the microbe from replicating. 

Why Antimicrobial?

Personal technology devices are known to harbor bacteria and viral matter due to the high-touch nature of these products and the difficulty of cleaning them with liquid cleaning products. In an office, workplace, or classroom where technology is often shared between people, these devices can act as links in the chain of transmission of harmful diseases.
